What will you bring to Gothenburg HC as a player and as a person?
As a player, I will bring my passion for the game, my competitive attitude, my relentless work ethic and my love for my teammates. With each game at practice, my goal is to be the absolute hardest working player on the ice.
Now you will be part of next year's squad, what qualities do you think are important in an ice hockey player?
I think competitiveness, confidence, composure, and passion are important qualities in an ice hockey player.
Gothenburg HC has stated that we want to make a restart and build a team with a clear idea, how do you think about your role in building a team with a strong us?
I hope to contribute to the rebuilding of our team by creating genuine friendships with my teammates. Integrity is a value that is very important to me and I strive to be a person of integrity, meaning that I am always honest and I only promise things I know I can do. By being someone of integrity and caring about my teammates, I hope to contribute to our building of trust among one another. Trust off ice translates to trust on ice. What are you most looking forward to playing in our SDHL team?I am most looking forward to playing with players from all over the world! I have mostly only played with and against Americans and Canadians.
What are your main strengths as a player?
As a player, my main strengths are forechecking the defense, being aggressive in the corners, blocking shots, and offensively driving hard to the net. I love to be the player that the other team hates to play against. Aside from the tactical skills that define my game, I consider myself to be an "energy player" - someone who constantly encourages and supports their teammates in their goals as much as my own - and a leader. What do you want to develop as a hockey player?
As a hockey player, I want to further my game by learning how to be comfortable in every position, knowing when to drive wide to the net, and working on my composure with the puck.
What are your expectations for the coming season?
I know this year will be a rebuilding year, in many ways, for Göteborg HC, but my expectations are not affected by this. I expect that, as a team - coaches, players, staff - we will put forth our best effort in every game, practice, and lift and never be completely satisfied until we win a championship. It's okay to be proud of your efforts after you are successful (ex. after winning a game), as long as you get back to work after and prepare for the next challenge.
Do you have a role model? Describe why.
My role model has always been Kobe Bryant. Kobe had a work ethic, like no other and neverlet anyone shake his confidence. He knew he wanted to be a legend in the NBA and he was willing to make sacrifices to allow his dream to become a reality. Below is my favorite Kobe Bryant quote:"Those times when you get up early and you work hard; those times when you stay up late and you work hard; those times when you don't feel like working, you're too tired, you don't want to push yourself, but you do it anyway; that is actually the dream. That's the dream. It's not the destination, it's the journey."What is your passion?
Obviously, hockey has been my passion since I was four years old. Aside from hockey, running is also a passion of mine. It's a good stress reliever and a time for me to clear my mind, while doing something productive.
Anything else that might be good to know about you for our players and the club?
I am beyond excited and grateful for this opportunity!
Head Coach thoughts about Jennifer.
