Hi Alexa welcome as a new player in Gothenburg HC, how does it feel?

Thank you! I am very excited for the opportunity to travel to Sweden and play for Gothenburg HC. I have always wanted to go overseas to play hockey, and I'm very grateful for the opportunity to do so in Gothenburg.

Family; (also dogs age and breed)

My parents, Tami and John, and my sister, Mackenzie

Former clubs as players?

2017-2022 Saint Mary's University (USports, AUS)

2014-2017 Northern Alberta Xtreme (CSSHL)

2012-2013 Edmonton Lightning (Bantam AAA)

2004-2012 South West Zone, Confederation (Edmonton Minor Hockey)

What will you bring to Gothenburg HC as a player and as a person?

As a player, I will bring speed, smart two-way play and a strong work ethic. As a person, I will bring postive energy, reliability and leadership by example.

Now you will be part of next year's squad, what qualities do you think are important in an ice hockey player?

I think it is important to have a high performance attitude, to always bring your best self and give your best effort. I also believe it is important to always want to improve as individuals and as a team.

Gothenburg HC has stated that we want to make a restart and build a team with a clear idea, how do you think about your role in building a team with a strong us?

It is very exciting to be part of a rebuilding team. I believe building a positive and united team culture is very important to team success and achieving the team's common goal. My goal is to bring my experience at the university level to lead by example with a postive attitude and work ethic.

What are you most looking forward to playing in our SDHL team?

I am looking forward to the challenge of playing professional hockey at the next level. I am also really looking forward to being a role model for the younger female players in the club.

What are your main strengths as a player?

My biggest strength is my skating and hockey sense to make smart and simple plays. I am a two-way defenseman, with strong defense, and my skating allows me to jump into the play on offense.

What do you want to develop as a hockey player?

I am always looking to improve all aspects of my game because there is always room for improvement. My goal is to take my game to the next level at a higher speed, and improve my shot.

What are your expectations for the coming season?

Going into this season my goal is to contribute to the team's success by leading by example on and off the ice.

Do you have a role model? Describe why.

I am very fortunate to be surrounded by coaches, teachers, and mentors in my life who have inspired me to continuously strive to improve myself. They have encouraged me to pursue my dreams in sports, in school and in life, and they have taught me about resilience, hard work, professionalism, and integrity.

What is your passion?

Hockey is my number one passion, and being on the ice is my happy place. Outside of hockey I am passionate about health and wellness, and my future career goal after hockey is to be a sports chiropractor.

Anything else that might be good to know about you for our players and the club?

I am really excited to being part of GHC and helping the club build a winning culture. I am also really looking forward to coming to Gothenburg, being part of the community and experiencing a new country.
